Midway Phoenix Corporation installed the island’s first Hydroponics garden at Midway. This provided fresh produce for island residents and visitors. For each pound of produce grown in the Hydroponics and Garden, was one less pound that needed to be airlifted to the island. The Hydroponics Garden was very successful at Midway.
